Malika, Mounia Meddour’s new film, receives the Audience Award and the High School Students’ Award at the 12th edition of the Festival International du Film de Fiction Historique.

The original score, composed by Yasmine Meddour, accompanies Malika’s elevation in the opera world.

Malika traces the extraordinary rise of a young woman born in a shantytown on the outskirts of Paris who dares to break into the rigid, elitist world of opera. Set in late-1980s Paris, the film follows Malika, marked by a childhood accident and raised in a family where survival leaves little room for dreams.

With Lilya Adad, Elsa Zylberstein, Lubna Azabal, Camille Razat, Marc Lavoine, Karidja Touré, Hilda Amira Douaouda, Rani Bheemuck and Djebril Zonga.

A co-production by Solar Entertainment and High Sea Production.

See you in theaters on November 18!

Yasmine Meddour is represented by Grande Ourse.
