With a rich experience encompassing over 50 films and series, Mathieu Lamboley is a prolific and sought-after French composer. He is renowned for his ability to craft a unique and memorable score for each project, ranging from a classical / hip-hop blend for the global hit Lupin to minimalist American music for Emmanuel Carrère’s Ouistreham, baroque western for Le Retour du Héros, and Debussy-esque symphonic music for the animated film Minuscule 2.

A pianist and composer with five first prizes from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Mathieu Lamboley wrote his first film score at the age of 25 and received the Grand Prize at the Aubagne Film Festival. Encouraged by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, who praised the richness of his orchestration reminiscent of Debussy or Ravel, he has since collaborated with numerous directors. His talent is evident in both French comedies (Delpy, Chaumeil, Saglio, Bentalha, Tirard) and auteur films (Cogitore, Peretjako, Carrère, Téchiné).

The year 2019 marked a turning point in his career with Minuscule 2. For this internationally acclaimed animated film, he composed a symphonic score performed by 95 musicians and a choir, which received enthusiastic critical acclaim and earned him nominations at the prestigious World Soundtrack Awards and IFMCA. His international reputation was solidified in 2021 with the global success of the Netflix series Lupin, viewed by over 70 million households. Now also represented in Hollywood, Mathieu Lamboley divides his time between French projects such as Romain Cogitore’s A Place to Fight For (Disney+) and the animated series Tobie Lolness (France TV), and international projects such as the German series Cassandra (Netflix) and the feature film Cold Storage starring Liam Neeson, written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Indiana Jones).

In addition, he remains committed to French orchestral projects (La Reine des Neiges with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Les Voyages de Gulliver, Léna et l’orchestre enchanté with the Orchestre National de France for Gallimard).
